Marian Harkin MEP has met with the European Trade Commissioner to raise her concerns about meat imports. Trade negotiations with the South American countries, Mercosur, have been reopened after a six year gap. The EU maintains that free trade would open up the South American market to exports from here. But Marian Harkin fears that in order to reach a deal, the interests of Irish farmers could be sacrificed. |
