Script details:
There are calls for the International Fund which provides financial support to cross border initiatives to be extended. The issue is being discussed at the European Parliament in Strasbourg this week. The fund was set up by the Irish and British Governments in 1986 to promote cross-communities in support of the peace process. Programmes that have already been given financial backing will continue. MEP’s are calling for the funding from an EU level to continue however Fianna Fail MEP Pat “The Cope” Gallagher says he doesn’t feel too optimistic about its continuation.
